Villas to let

Post by Arthur Harding »

MMmmmm

Please see reply ref my question about a Villa to let during May 2004

In fact I recieved the opposite of the response to my question

I recieved no info on holiday villas for May so had to resort to using James Villas and the 1 and only villa they have in Carvoeiro

I am a little disappointed as I was hoping that personal recommandations from existing owners could have achieved myself and my family a better villa.

Still I am not moaning as I am back in Carvoeiro during May and thats what we were hoping

We have just taken up Golf in the UK and are pretty useless at it but really enjoy it. I understand that there is a 9 hole course near Carvoeiro, if so does anyone who its name and averge round costs??

Thanks for all the help ref the weather in May it looks like it should be good acording to the replys I have recieved.

Again this a a most excellent site

Hi

Has anyone any knowledge of a 4 bedroom villa with swimming pool and no more than 1000M's from the Carvoeio village square, overlooking the sea or at least sea views would be great

Looking for a rental of 7 or 10 days during any period of May 2004

Thanks

Arthur and Beth

You are inviting just about anybody with fantasy enough to ask for a down payment.

Please contact the advertisers at http://www.carvoeiro.org - you'll find hundreds of villas directly from the owners or by registered companies.

Good morning Arthur,

Yes, there is an excellent nine hole that is perfect for beginners - it is called Val de Milho. I am not 100% sure of costs but I think it was quite reasonable - about 12Euros a round - hopefully one of the Val de Milho owners will be able to be much more specific.

Hi Arthur

I have read through your original posting and the the replies you got and take your point that from your perspective they would not have seemed like helpful answers at all however I am in a position to understand why the response was as it was - what would have been more useful for you would have been a clearer explanation - something like . . .

Obviously this site advertises in excess of 100 villas for rent in and around the CVO area, the membership of the forum is made up of visitors to CVO, local business owners and those villa owners who also advertise on the site. Whilst personal recommendations are an ideal from a customer perspective, responding to your query would have set villa owners pitching against each other on a direct level. The rental section has (should have) the best of their sales information on a straightforward and non competitive (as far as it goes) platform. And facilitates locating the right villa for you by various narrowing the search options.

I think that having made a short list from the advertisers that a post that invites comments for forum members who have previously stayed at the accommodation would have been appropriate and possibly have provided useful insight to any owner.

Anyway, I hope that helps to clarify why you may not have got the replies you were expecting, obviously a clearer explanation at the time would have been more pro-social and I am as guilty as anyone for not having done that.

Have a great holiday and keep asking questions.

Maddi :)

maybe its a bit late for now, but we spent a great time in late autumn last year on monte carvoeiro, which is just 5min walk above the marketplace and gives also access to a nearby smallsupermarket as well as a few restaurants seconds away. it was a villa with three bed/bathrooms and a bit seaview.
we rented the villa from
Carvoeiro, Clube

The problem is that Carvoeiro Clube only have a relatively few apartments or villas at Monte Carvoeiro.

The best option, particularly for one or two bedroom apartments, is to contact Porterreno S.A. who are the main managers for Monte Carvoeiro.

Their contact numbers are:

Tel. 00 351 282 350111
Fax. 00 351 282 350119
Email: porterreno@mail.telepac.pt

If telephoning ask for Tina - you will receive every possible help and can even arrange transfers to and from Faro Airport or car rentals.

The best option is to look on the rentals page of this site!
Many properties are owned by Forum members not by large organisations
who do not pay to advertise on this site

Nice one Tricky, I "think" I spotted that as well. I've got 2 weeks during Euro 2004 available but not happy about advertising on here and wouldn't unless I could email the forum members. We are not on the rental section because at the moment we don't need it due to repeats etc.

Regarding to Monte Carvoeiro Resort please notice, that Mr. Ian Frankland from Porterreno S.A is only the manager of the timeshare apartments (50%). The other 50% are private owned.
