Whats wrong with a good ole sarnie Bruce?Bruce Wallis wrote:I think you are right about Solfirias( or whatever)
I looked in there out of curiosity on Tuesday night, almost empty.
Good idea to take it over....just so long as Ellie doesnt turn it into a sandwich bar
But in saying that, I do love a nice thick crunchy toasty one..with a lovely 'galao'
Id always be willing to lend a hand to Thunderbolt in preparing some luvly jubbly 'rubies' too..nice hot ones
Im not a great cook, I just like simple good tasty grub....I make a good apple pie and lemon meringue pie...
Blimey, Im making my own mouth water now..its all your fault Bruce..you started it.
If we take over Boteco, looks like we're going to have a very varied menu..how about some jellied eeels as well?

and me tooo

You know you love a challenge Richard.
You and Mike C can design and sort out the web page, I can do the advertising and marketing, Baggy sally can supply the organic meat,
ellie, Thunderbolt and Bruce can do the cooking and Biffa can be front of house (as he seems to know everyone) Okay we will have to have a rota for cleaning the toilets!, but hey!
Tricky

Id love to see the reaction of the current owners of Boteco if they read this thread!
The Lemon Merangue sounds good to me Ellie. As far as the jellied eels is concerned??? They are the best reason I can think of for NOT living in the East End!
I dont know Ellie....we let you into the Algarve....gave you political asylum in Lincolnshire...and still you talk about jellied eels!...Now Lincolnshire sausages.....mmm
It's true isnt it.....you can take the girl out of London....but you cant take the London out of the girl!!
As an aside........
We live in Surrey now, and sadly cant find a decent sausage! These finely minced offerings the local butchers offer, are just not a shade on what we are forced to import ftom Lincolnshire and Saxmunham in Suffolk.
You can however get some really good sausages in Carvoeiro!

And according to Grao Para Hotel Group website:Sandy wrote:O Boteco and Solferias Apartments seem to be owned or managed by the Grao Para Hotel Group who have an interest in several places.
.Located in the quaint Carvoeiro Village, "O Boteco" stands out for the quality of its cuisine, especially its regional dishes (various chargrilled dishes and seafood platters), excellent service and privileged location.
Mind you, in the Portuguese version of their website, they also talk about the Restaurant having been substantially refurbished this year (July 2007). Seems like changes are afoot.
O Boteco Disappointing
