There is a vet clinic in Guia just after the main EN125 intersection on the left towards AlgarveShopping.

I have several cats and the 25 minute drive is a bit of a strech for them, but comparing to other vets in the area the staff there is much more helpful, caring and dedicated than any other vet I have visited todate. Portuguese, english and german are spoken and they can also help you find a suitable kennel to accomodate your dogs if need be.

Two vet practices in Lagoa, one behind the Factacil the other in the other is a new practice in the town called "Silvet"

With regard to kennels we use a smashing English lady called Jan, who has premises at Vale de Rei (close to the International School,) she charges 8 Euros a day for dogs.

Can provide contact numbers if you want.

Regards

David

Yes David phone numbers would be wonderful. They are both really good in the car so travelling is no problem.

Vets and kennels

We have used Solvet in Lagoa (near Fatacil) over the past year and have received excellent treatment for our elderly Golden Retreiver. The vets are young, friendly and genuinely seem to care for the animals as opposed to seeing them merely as an income. Ana and Joao both speak good English as does the receptionist. Parking in that part of Lagoa is pretty easy too.

They have a second clinic in Portimao which is equipped with an X ray machine and a machine for analysing blood samples. We have found the charges very reasonable and a pleasant surprise after English vets' charges.

The Lagoa telephone number is 282 087996
