Pedra Grande close by?

Post by sierrasue50 »

I read somewhere that the people staying in Pedra Grande had access to the facilities at Rocha Brava. Does anyone know if this is true?

I am a quarter share owner at Rocha Brava and I have never heard that Pedra Grande can use the Rocha Brava facilities. When people are sitting round the pool they are sometimes asked for proof that they are staying at Rocha Brava as it gets very busy. I am sure that this is not the case.

Although there would be no entitlement to use the pools at Rocha Brava, there's no problem with using the shop, cafe or restaurant.

Well, thanks so much. Are these 2 resorts pretty close to one another then? I don't know anything about the area at all. Is it walking distance to restaurants, shopping etc, or would we need to use our car?

You would need a car to get to the centre of Carvoeiro, although it is only about 5 minutes drive, but you can walk to Centeanes beach, Julio's, Rochamar, and Jardim do Farol restaurants, plus the shop, cafe and restaurant on Rocha Brava and the shops, bars and Italian restaurant at Centeanes.

Pedra Grande is next to Rocha Brava and opposite the 9 hole golf course at Vale do Milho

The swimming pools on Rocha Brava are for the use of the owners and their guests only. This is being strictly enforced.

Pedra Grande

Pedra Grande has a swimming pool on the complex so you wouldn`t need to use the one at Rocha Brava. It is a very well kept group of properties, we have a friend who often stays there, I am sure you would like it

Is this the complex sort of up the hill to the east of Rocha Brava, ie across the road from the old farm on the cliff overlooking the road to Atlantico?

Anyone know if the pool is heated in winter, ie like Rocha Brava?

The rates for winter do not include cost of electricity. What would that cost per week approximately?

How many bedrooms would there be for four persons?

Thanks.

Pedra Grande is on the right before you get to Rocha Brava, just opposite the entrance to Vale do Milho and Julios restaurant. The pool isn't heated in winter and most of the apartments have 2 bedrooms - not sure about electric in winter, maybe 20 euros per week depending on whether there is a logburner, and whether you use it!

Thanks kteee. I know the one now.

Seems quite reasonably priced, I guess because the view is inland and it's bit of a walk up the hill to see the sea, although some have rooftop terraces - but I doubt they can see the sea.

Also, a bit of a walk up the other hill to Vale do Milho.

Still, another interesting option, with all the advantages you point out. And I remember it being an attractive development in design and construction.

Thanks again.
