All the talk of Goa/Asian food--reminds me--before we went to live in Algarve--I had some very good Indian friends--they invited me to a family wedding--it was wonderful -all the colours-- not only of the beautiful clothes but the food as well--it was superb
I was a daily customer at their little supermarket---and they often invited me to take tea with them in the back office--"Indian style"---milk heated in saucepan then tea/or teabags added then through strainer& sugar added--really good.
Mike--those prawns sounded absolutely---revolting
Maddi--you have us all intrigued now--wondering--who this other member is--whos in Goa at Easter

He is not definately in Goa over Easter but is thinking about visiting at that time - as to who it is, it is not my place to say. Lets remember I work in the criminal justice system so I am darn good at "in confidence".
Nobody with me on the cold Ready Brek thing - never mind, what about dipping chocolate in tea? Once had pie, mash and liquor, my friends told me it was pie, mash and "gravy" but failed to mention that the "gravy" (liqour) was green and of course when in the east end . . .
Anyway strange evening, people round for copious drinks this evening, who then announced at 10.45 (!!!!!!!!!!!) that they had to go, I know I am not that bad a hostess, in fact as a rule I am pretty darn good - so here I am at shortly before eleven, several black russians down the line engaging with cvo.com - you are all bloody lucky that I am making sense

Beinga a pie eater I espcially like taking the middle of a meat and potato pie and putting it in between two slices of bread, complete with red cabbage, heaven - there again i am easily pleased !!

Was that deliberate Labrador---sand"wishes"--if so that sounds far better than "wiches"---and at this moment --I really wish for a Bacon/lettuce&tomato sarnie--well,I did only have a banana for breakfast 
I havent tasted pickle red cabbage for years--goes well with cold cuts too- after Xmas ---my ma always bought pickled walnuts too--but forgotten what they taste like--they used to be quite expensive--so were only ever a treat.When I was a kid I used to wonder how they pickled hard walnuts --until I found out they were pickled while still soft& green.

Pickled walnuts are delicious though the commercial ones can be a bit sharp. Years ago I discovered a walnut tree in the Stormont Estate, and every year I raid the tree in July and sneak out before being caught by the ranger. You prick them with a silver fork and then soak in brine until they turn black. I pickle them in Port and leave for 3 months

Rod---Im sure the Port must add a special "something"--giving the walnuts a sweeter and perhaps warmer taste----but Im wondering---why a "silver" fork --would an ordinary metal fork affect the flavour?
