Restaraunt Prices 1994
Having a clearout the other day and found an O' Cantino (still my favorite) bill from 1994! Made interesting reading! Now I can't remember the escudo excange to the euro but I think I'm right in saying that 300 escudos was about a pound! here's what we had!
Cover 200
Tomato soup 300
Fish soup 400
Filet Mignon 1600
Gin & T 350
Small beer 200
Bottle of Red (middle of the road) 1200
Coffee 150
So how does that equate with the general prices now and has the euro really made a difference. I'm not so sure.

Hmmmm, might just go over and compare today's prices, but to be fair to cantinho, I think we can safely say that pull the decimal forward 2 notches and these are todays prices in most restaurants.
In other words, prices have doubled over the last 10 years while the average salary only increased somewhere around 30%.

gotta say though 45 euros a meal for two including some wine etc is quite cheap. i wouldnt be unhappy with that sort of prices.
